The Graduate Students’ Association (GSA) of the University of Alberta acknowledges the deeply troubling and ongoing conflict in the Middle East, including the recent escalation between Israel and Iran.
We recognize that global conflicts affect members of our campus community in very real and personal ways—especially those with family, heritage, or community ties to the regions involved. During this time, we want to extend empathy and solidarity to all those experiencing distress, uncertainty, or grief.
The University of Alberta offers a number of mental health and wellness supports that may be helpful during this time:
- Counselling & Clinical Services: Free and confidential mental health support, available to all registered students. Individual and group counselling are available.
- International Student + Visitor Services: International students can access advising, wellness support, and referrals to help navigate this difficult time.
- For details on these and other supports, visit the University of Alberta’s Mental Health page
Your wellbeing matters. If you are in need of support, we encourage you to reach out, seek help, and connect with available resources. The GSA stands with you in solidarity, and we will continue to foster a supportive and inclusive campus for all graduate students.
