Who We Are

The GSA acts as the labour union for all academically employed graduate students at the University of Alberta. We advocate for fair working conditions, negotiate the collective agreement for graduate student employees, and provide support in navigating employment-related challenges. Our goal is to ensure that your rights are protected and that you receive fair compensation and treatment during your employment.

The GSA Labour Relations Committee (GSA LRC) supports the Associate Vice-President Labour (AVPL) by advising on the Collective Agreement (CA) and assisting in the appointment and training of faculty stewards. Members provide valuable feedback on employment experiences and engage with stewards to address workplace issues, playing a key role in ensuring that academically-employed graduate students are informed and represented within the GSA.
