Despite a light drizzle at the start, the skies cleared just in time for the GSA Spring Social:Sunset Social at the Zoo at the Edmonton Valley Zoo, creating a perfect backdrop for an unforgettable evening.
Graduate students enjoyed exclusive after-hours access to the zoo, exploring exhibits and connecting with peers in a relaxed setting. A highlight of the night was the Critter Feature in the Otter Room, where attendees had the unique opportunity to meet one of the zoo’s friendly snakes up close.
Adding to the excitement, Lucy, the zoo’s beloved Asian elephant, made a rare appearance. According to zookeepers, sightings of Lucy are uncommon, making this encounter particularly special for guests.
The evening also featured an Instagram Bingo Challenge, encouraging attendees to capture moments throughout the event. Participants who completed the challenge were rewarded with prizes, adding a fun and interactive element to the social.
