2026 - 2027 Term

I'm Mohamed, a PhD researcher in Construction Management, a father, and someone who has spent the past year showing up for graduate students when it mattered most. As Chief Faculty Steward, I served as the primary point of contact for graduate labour concerns across every faculty at the University of Alberta. I've personally handled tens of complex cases helping students navigate conflicts with supervisors, funding disputes, and workplace issues that no one should face alone. I sit on the Labour Relations Committee, GSA Council, and multiple committees where real decisions get made about our working conditions and rights. I hold PMP and RMP certifications and bring professional experience in workforce systems and organizational leadership. But what drives me isn't titles, it's the student who messages late at night worried about retaliation, or the one who didn't know they had rights until someone told them. I've been that person for dozens of students this last year. I believe in accountability, transparency, and building systems that don't just react to problems but prevent them.
