Hazel Emma Kemuma

2025 - 2026 Term

Hazel is a Master of Public Health student. She was born in Kenya, where she completed her Bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and went on to work in student advocacy with The National Students’ Caucus as their programs officer.

Before becoming the VPSL, she actively supported student initiatives and helped build a sense of belonging within the Christian graduate student community in her leadership role with the Graduate Student Fellowship. As VPSL, she is here to help bridge gaps — whether it’s making student services more accessible, supporting student groups, or creating more spaces where grads can meet, collaborate, and just have fun. Her passion lies in making graduate life more connected, supportive, and a lot less overwhelming.

In her role, she works closely with student organizations, residence teams, and university committees to ensure that your graduate experience is vibrant, inclusive, and responsive to your needs. Her approach centers on listening first, acting collaboratively, and finding small but meaningful ways to make a big impact.

When not working with the GSA, you can find her hiking, practicing photography, or tucked away with a good book. She's excited to serve you this year and invites you to reach out anytime —- whether you have a concern, an idea, or just want to connect!
